A clean nebulizer works better and is more hygienic. Follow your device manual first — these are the common steps.
Cleaning schedule
| Part | After every use | Weekly |
|---|---|---|
| Medicine cup | Wash, rinse, air-dry | Soak as the manual allows |
| Mask / mouthpiece | Wash, rinse, air-dry | Check for cracks or cloudiness |
| Tubing | Do not wash inside; keep dry | Replace if damp inside or stiff |
| Mesh | Rinse; run cleaning mode | Inspect; never poke |
| Compressor body | Wipe with a dry cloth | Check the air filter |
After every use
- Unplug and take the cup and mask off.
- Pour away any leftover medicine.
- Wash in warm soapy water and rinse well.
- Shake off water and let air-dry on a clean towel.
- Store in a clean, dry bag.
Do and don't
- Do give each person their own mask.
- Do replace the air filter when it looks grey.
- Don't wash the compressor unit or tubing inside.
- Don't poke or scrub the mesh of a mesh nebulizer.
